Veterinary Care of Ithaca continues to offer curbside service for our patients. This allows your pet to receive the care and attention that you have come to expect while minimizing the risk of COVID-19 transmission. Only hospital personnel will be allowed inside the hospital until further notice. We understand that it can be stressful to be separated from your pet during a visit and we make every effort possible to help your friend feel loved and comforted while away from you. This includes fear free handling techniques, delicious food, and lots of snuggles! We all look forward to the day we can welcome pet owners back into the building and will rely on both government guidance and our NY state veterinary medical association to determine when it is safe to do so.
Important details for your appointment:
If you or a member of your pet’s household have tested positive for COVID-19 — PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
If you have any symptoms of the virus—sore throat, dry cough, or fever — PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
If you have recently traveled outside of the U.S. or to current endemic regions for Covid — PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Call our main telephone number (607-273-3133) when you arrive at the parking lot. For health and safety purposes, we require that you arrive wearing a face mask or covering, and your pet must be on a leash or in a carrier.
Please remain in your vehicle with your animal.
A member of our medical team will come to the parking lot to bring your pet into the building for evaluation. Please remember to keep your face mask on at all times when interacting with our staff. We will do the same when interacting with you! This is imperative in protecting the health and safety of our community.
Due to the airborne nature of the COVID-19 virus, we ask that you please refrain from engaging in conversation with the staff member who delivers your items or retrieves your pet from your vehicle. Please continue to utilize the phone as your primary method of communication with our team.
The team will communicate with you both before and during your pet’s examination via cell phone. Keep your phone close and the ringer on. We will be calling from internal lines so your phone may not recognize our call.
Please remain in the parking lot during your pet’s visit. Please allow extra time for your appointment and be prepared to wait. If you need to leave the parking lot while your pet is in the building, please notify us before doing so. If you prefer a drop-off or day admission appointment, please notify us of this at the time of scheduling. Please be advised all drop off/day admission appointments are charged a fee. This is to account for private kennel space and nursing care (food, water, bedding, potty breaks) for your pet. We will do all we can to accommodate you and your pet in a timely manner, however, unforeseen delays in patient care and our modified workflow may lead to increased wait times.
