Given current New York State guidelines for COVID-19, our clinic services will now be devoted to the care of patients with urgent medical needs only. For the safety of our staff and community, we have also decreased our in-clinic personnel to a very minimal team.
These are unprecedented times, but rest assured, we also have team members working from home to continue to meet as many of the needs of our patients as possible. You may consult with one of our veterinarians using our telemedicine app Televet from the comfort of your home, should you have any concerns or questions. We also have partnered with Vetsource to ensure you have access to your pet’s medication needs with delivery to your home. Please allow extra time to receive medication refills. Given our limited resources, we ask that you contact us via email or through the PetDesk app. You may also text our main phone number (607-273-3133). We will be able to respond to these modes of communication in a more efficient manner.
Only hospital personnel will be allowed inside of the hospital until further notice.
Veterinary hospital staff will meet clients in the parking lot and bring animals into the clinic for care.
You can be assured that our team will continue using fear-free handling methods to provide your pet with a comfortable and smooth visit. We use tasty treats, pheromone sprays, and private exam rooms to ensure that your pet has a stress-free experience!
What clients should do when they arrive at the hospital with patients:
If you or a member of your household have tested positive for COVID-19, PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
If you have any symptoms of the virus—sore throat, dry cough, or fever—PLEASE RESCHEDULE YOUR APPOINTMENT.
Call our main telephone number (607-273-3133) when you arrive at the parking lot. For health and safety purposes, we require that you arrive wearing a face mask or covering, and your pet must be on a leash or in a carrier.
Please remain in your vehicle with your animal.
A member of our medical team will come to the parking lot to bring your pet into the building for evaluation. Unless your pet has been scheduled for a day admission appointment or hospitalization, please remain in your vehicle in our parking lot for the duration of the visit and available by cell phone.
Due to the airborne nature of the COVID-19 virus, we ask that you please refrain from engaging in conversation with the staff member who delivers your items or retrieves your pet from your vehicle. Please continue to utilize the phone as your primary method of communication with our team.
Once the care of your pet is complete, the discharge process will be discussed, and payment may be processed either online or by phone. Credit card or Care Credit are preferred, but cash or check will also be accepted. To pay online, use Online Payments for Veterinary Care of Ithaca.
We sincerely appreciate your trust, support, and understanding during these challenging times.
